I love knowing how couples meet because I’m truly a huge romantic at heart. I never get tired of hearing my wedding clients share their love stories with me. This beautiful couple, Shavonne and Wesley both attended the University of Washington but never bumped into each other. They ended up meeting through mutual friends.
Wesley proposed to Shavonne a few years into their relationship at Teddy Bear Cove, known for its beautiful views of Chuckanut Bay. It was the place where he took Shavonne on their third date. So, it wasn’t surprising that their wedding venue, Rosehill Community Center in Mukilteo, with its sweeping views of the Puget Sound, was their first choice for their wedding ceremony and reception. We are incredibly blessed to live in the Pacific Northwest. There are so many mountain ranges, green river valleys, evergreen trees, plentiful lakes and rivers and lovely coastline.
Mukilteo Lighthouse Park
An extra bonus was this venue’s proximity to Mukilteo Lighthouse Park which offers excellent beach access. The lighthouse itself is only open certain hours but the park provided us with plenty of photo options from pictures on the beach, to the boat docks, in addition to the grassy park grounds.
The Big Day
Their wedding day was gorgeous and sunny the whole day. Also, instead of a traditional flower girl, the couple opted to have one of their groomsmen dance his way down the aisle dramatically throwing petals here and there to the amusement of all their guests. I had a hard time keeping the camera steady as I really wanted to chuckle along with everyone else. The live band at their reception was another highlight and I love Nothing Bundt Cakes.
It is said that water symbolizes a variety of things from life and hope to richness and depth. Shavonne and Wesley already had all these attributes and more!
