This family posted on a photography Facebook group I follow looking to find a newborn photographer around Seattle. I commented right away and shared some of my work for them to view. After looking through dozens of other portfolios, they chose me to do their session.
At one point during our talks, they also realized I had been the photographer for one of their friends’ weddings, so this sealed the deal!
We scheduled our in-home newborn session around the due date. I usually suggest photos within the first ten days of a baby’s birth. As with all births, our scheduled time didn’t happen as planned. After an emergency C-section- we rescheduled their session. I was able to go into their home a few days after they brought precious Ruby home from the hospital.
In-home sessions are the best in my opinion. Years later, both parents and children can enjoy seeing what both the home and the nursery looked like at the time. In-home sessions also offer a laid-back, comfortable feel for everyone, especially Mom and baby. I think you get the best photos this way.
As a newborn photographer, I bring a couple different blankets that have good texture for photos. In general, I mostly like to use what’s in my clients home to make it more unique and personal to them. If you book a session, I will always include my detailed newborn prep guide! Contact me to schedule your session! You can also check out my galleries page to see more newborn sessions.
