It takes one minute to fold a simple origami crane – Shelby and Braden made 1,000 cranes for their wedding table backdrop. Cranes are a symbol of good fortune, honor, and longevity in the Japanese culture which made this wedding extra special.
Their country venue site was in Arlington, WA at Sadie Lake Events with its sprawling acres of natural beauty, red barn reception site and of course Sadie Lake itself. The wooden planked floating platform on the lake offered no end of romantic shots for me to take of the wedding couple.
This wedding was filled with plenty of love and laughter from beginning to end. If this offers any insight into their lighthearted day, one of the groomsmen dressed up as the bride for the first look. Imagine Braden’s surprise when he turned around to greet his lovely bride and found his friend instead. You can see the hilarous look on his face if you scroll through their pictures.
Another fun touch was the yellow ducks they used for the cake topper on their wedding cake. Braden won a duck for Shelby on their first date. They met up at the ever popular Mallard’s Ice Cream shop in Bellingham, followed by the Ruckus Room Arcade where Braden got the duck and ultimately his forever girl.
